The Speaker of the National Assembly flew to Baku

BUJUMBURA July 2nd (ABP) – The Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr. Daniel Gélase Ndabirabe, flew on Tuesday, June 28, to Baku in the Republic of Azerbaijan, to participate in a two-day conference of the parliamentary network of the 120 States of the non-aligned movement.

Before the plane took off, Mr. Ndabirabe told the press that Burundi is a member of the non-aligned movement, pointing out that it is also witness to certain events happening around the world, in particular the elements of security from which it can derive the contribution.

Mr. Ndabirabe also indicated that this conference of the non-aligned movement will focus on the contribution to peace, and the mobilization of the various Member States through parliaments.

It is with a view to not only mobilizing their peoples for security, peaceful coexistence and non-interference in the internal affairs of States, but also to create a rapprochement between the member States of the movement, he said.
