BUJUMBURA May 23rd (ABP) – The President of the Republic, Mr. Evariste Ndayishimiye received, on Thursday May 19, Ahmed Kattan, the special envoy of the King of Saudi Arabia, Salman BinAbdulazie Al Saud.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, Mr. Albert Shingiro has made it known that the envoy of the King of Saudi Arabia has just been received a week after he himself, as minister in charge of cooperation went to Saudi Arabia, as special envoy of the President of the Republic of Burundi to the King of Saudi Arabia while indicating that he was carrying a particular message from President Ndayishimiye.
Minister Shingiro pointed out that Saudi Arabia is leading a campaign to host the World Expo in 2030, a very important event on the international scene, noting that Saudi Arabia would like support to host this exhibition.
For Mr. Shingiro, in reference to the good relations of “friendship and brotherhood” between the two respective peoples, Burundi has taken the decision to support Saudi Arabia to host the 2030 World Expo.
