BUJUMBURA May 12th (ABP) – Vice-President of the Republic Prosper Bazombanza received in audience the Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Burundi Claude Bochu, Wednesday May 11, 2022.
At the end of the audience, Ambassador Bochu indicated that it was his first official meeting with Vice-President Bazombanza and that their talks focused on the state of relations between Burundi and the EU.
Ambassador Bochu told him about two important meetings that are on the horizon. That is the 4th session of political dialogue between the EU and Burundi, which will take place on May 19, 2022 and the day of cooperation scheduled for June 10, 2022, at which he wishes and hopes that Burundi will be represented. at the highest level.
He pointed out that this day will be an opportunity to discuss the cooperation programs of the EU and its Member States in Burundi. Indeed, he added, it will be an opportunity to focus the discussions on the need for the EU to implement all possibilities to support the Burundian government in its development efforts.
The Vice-President of the Republic of Burundi indicated that during this meeting, he was able to remind the EU ambassador that the Burundian government wants the NGOs that come to carry out development projects to use of Burundi’s National Development Plan 2018-2027, and that everyone’s contribution is very tangible. We must also avoid those efforts are made around the same provinces while others are forgotten.
