BUJUMBURA May 10th (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi Mr. Evariste Ndayishimiye shared, on Sunday, May 8, 2022, the Sunday prayer with the faithful of the Anglican Church of the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Diocese of Bujumbura (west of Burundi), where he calls on Burundians to pray to the Almighty, in order to face Satan who proves to be the source of all evil.

Mgr Eraste Bigirimana, bishop of the diocese based his preaching on the holy scriptures taken from Isaiah chapter 63 verse 7 to 14 and in Luke chapter 24 verse 36. He recalled that God always has good projects in regard to the men he creates. That is how he invited the faithful of that church in particular and all Burundians in general, not to be discouraged each time they face dark moments in daily life, rather to implore the All-powerful to overcome those obstacles.

However, he warned, all of that is possible provided you avoid all kinds of sins, but rather walk in the breach made by the Holy Spirit. Bishop Bigirimana also invited the faithful and especially the young people to work hard, explaining that God blesses the hands that work.

The President of the Republic, for his part, encouraged Burundians to pray unceasingly and always remain at the side of God, who is guardian of the whole world. He also called on all administrative officials to avoid injustice and all forms of corruption, in order to strengthen good governance and the prosperity of the country will then follow, he reassured.

The Head of State did not forget to encourage Burundians and especially young people to work a lot, by grouping together in cooperatives, since work ennobles man.

President Ndayishimiye also pointed out that during this Easter period, Burundians are invited to place their trust in God, he who knows the projects of peace and not of misfortunes which are intended for Burundians. Religious leaders, for their part, are called upon to lead by a good example, while contributing to the development initiatives undertaken by the government of Burundi.
