The President of the Republic has received in audience the Japanese Ambassador to Burundi

BUJUMBURA March 24th (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, M. Evariste Ndayishimiye, received in audience the Ambassador of Japan to Burundi with residence in Kigali, Mr. Masahiro, Imai on Wednesday March 23, 2022 in his Office number 2 in Bujumbura.

At the end of the audience, Mr. Masahiro Imai indicated that his meeting with the Burundian President focused on the celebration of the birthday of the Emperor of Japan scheduled for Thursday March 24, 2022 which coincides with the 60th anniversary of the friendly relations between Burundi and Japan.

The two senior authorities had the opportunity to discuss development issues in the two countries. Mr. Masahiro Imai said that Japan is satisfied with the step already taken by Burundi in the field of development for two years in power of President Evariste Ndayishimiye. He pointed out that the two countries are cooperating in various fields including education where Japan will build a vocational training center in Gitega in the locality of Kibimba. In the agricultural field, Japan will intervene in the coffee sector.
