MWARO March 7th (ABP) – The Director General of the Savings and Credit Cooperative for the Self Development of the Military (CECADM), Mr. Nestor Bigirimana held this Friday, March 4, 2022, a moralization meeting at the intention of the members of that financial institution of the Mwaro province (center west of Burundi). Its purpose was to present achievements, assess the progress of projects and future prospects. That meeting also had the objective of analyzing how CECADEM members contribute to the development of their business.
Mr. Bigirimana indicated that the CECADM wants to be a long-lasting cooperative of reference, aiming at the well-being of the members, in order to contribute to the socio-economic development of the country. He also clarified that it provides financial and non-financial services, citing retirement savings products and credit products.
With regard to non-financial products, he mentioned awareness of self-development, orientation in the development and support for members in the implementation of projects.
The Director General of CECADEM also pointed out that to facilitate withdrawal operations for its members, this institution provides for the implementation of the operation of withdrawing and sending money via mobile phone, which he called mobile banking and national monetary switch. According to Mr. Bigirimana, CECADEM also plans to improve financial products, meaning that widows who are members of the cooperative could save for their future and that of their children.
He ended his remarks by asking active or retired soldiers, their spouses as well as veterans, to form a cooperative or economic group in order to be assisted in their projects by the CECADM.
