The draft salary policy was one of the ten items on the agenda of the Cabinet meeting

GITEGA March 3rd (ABP) – The Burundian Head of State, Évariste Ndayishimiye, presided over the Cabinet meeting, Wednesday March 2, 2022, at the presidential palace in Gitega (central Burundi). On the agenda of the said Cabinet were ten points, the first of which concerned the salary policy project which was presented by the Minister of the Civil Service, Labor and Employment. In turn, the Minister of National Education and Scientific Research made a presentation on the second point relating to the sectoral strategy of the Ministry of National Education and Scientific Research.

With regard to the third point developed by the Minister of Public Health and the Fight against AIDS, it concerned the bill on the ratification by the Republic of Burundi of financing agreement No. D9640-Bi between the Republic of Burundi and the International Development Association for the Burundi COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Project-Additional Funding signed in Bujumbura, January 29, 2022.

The 4th, 5th and 6th points respectively, the draft decree establishing a social register in Burundi, the additional protocol to the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights relating to the rights of the elderly and the additional protocol to the charter of human and peoples’ rights relating to the rights of persons with disabilities were presented by the Minister of National Solidarity, Social Affairs and Gender.

Finally, the Minister of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning developed the remaining points, namely the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th points. They relate respectively to the draft national insurance policy and its implementation strategy, the draft decree on the creation, missions, organization and operation of a joint appeal committee “CPA”, the note relating to disparities observed in the granting of end-of-career allowances to retired staff and at the request of a general orientation and the guidance note in the context of the preparation of the budget, financial year 2022/2023.
