BUJUMBURA February 24th (ABP) – The Vice President of the Republic of Burundi, Mr. Prosper Bazombanza, received in audience on Wednesday February 23 in Bujumbura, the Apostolic Nuncio to Burundi, Bishop Dieudonné Datonou.
In an interview that the latter gave to the press at the end of the audience, he indicated that he came to greet the Vice President of the Republic and to show the Pope’s closeness to the people of Burundi. According to Bishop Datonou, it was also an opportunity to congratulate the Burundian authorities for the lifting of sanctions by the European Union. “It would not have been possible without their openness and contribution,” he admired. Thus, he indicated that he shares with the people of Burundi the conviction that all difficulties are surmountable.
