Before the mass ended, the Head of State Evariste Ndayishimiye addressed the audience. He thanked the Almighty for keeping Burundi and Burundians under all circumstances. “Despite its miserable situation, Burundi resisted against covid-19 thanks to God,” he said, before asking CNDD-FDD party activists to entrust themselves to God to better serve the country.

To all those who have a portion of power over the people, Mr. Ndayishimiye asked to use it usefully. He asked them to lead the people in their charge on a path that commits them to development.

To the heads of religious denominations, he asked to wink at the leaders to bring them back to the right path.

Previously, Mgr. Simon Ntamwana, Archbishop of Gitega had recommended to CNDD-FDD leaders and activists to take advantage of the teachings that will be given to them during that prayer of thanksgiving to further improve their services to the people. For clarification, he asked to treat people equally and avoid corruption, social injustice, and so forth.

That mass also saw the presence of the first vice-president of the Republic, MPs, members of the government, senior executives and executives of the country and the people of the urban center of Gitega and its surroundings.
