The Head of State has received in audience the resident coordinator of the United Nations system in Burundi

BUJUMBURA October 19th (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, Mr. Evariste Ndayishimiye, received in audience on Monday October 18, 2021 at the presidential palace Ntare Rushatsi, the resident coordinator of the United Nations system in Burundi, Mr. Damien Mama came to present the letter of credentials to him.

At the end of the audience, Mr. Damien Mama revealed to the press that he had come to present to the President of the Republic of Burundi his letter of appointment as resident coordinator of the United Nations system in Burundi to coordinate actions the thirteen agencies of this system present in Burundi within the framework of cooperation between Burundi and the United Nations.

He also indicated that during the talks with the President of Burundi, he had the privilege of sharing his vision for the country.

Mr. Mama said that Mr. Ndayishimiye has a very clear vision which aims in particular to raise Burundi to the rank of great nations. He also affirmed to the President of the Republic of Burundi the commitment of the United Nations system to support the implementation of Burundi’s vision.

He added that the United Nations are ready to support Burundi in achieving the sustainable development objectives which aim in particular everything related to the creation of wealth, environmental sustainability and social inclusion so that goods of this country can be accessible to all citizens.
