Priestly and diaconal ordination has taken place in the parish of Murore

KIRUNDO July 20th (ABP) – The Minister in charge of Finance, Mr. Domitien Ndihokubwayo, was on Saturday July 18 in Kirundo province (northern Burundi) where he joined the Christians of the Murore parish of the diocese of Muyinga in the ceremonies of priestly and diaconal ordination, a check by ABP revealed.

After the ordination of five priests and eight deacons, which was led by the bishop of the diocese of Muyinga, Mgr. Joachim Ntahondereye, as well as 10 readers and five acolytes who received the collation of ministries, Minister Ndihokubwayo, who represented the government, congratulated the diocese of Muyinga and the new ordained. Addressing the latter, he meant that they must accomplish their mission well, especially knowing how to guide the sheep of their localities where they will be affected. He asked the ordained young people to be good reconcilers and unifier of the people in order to establish peace. He praised the good relations that exist between the Catholic Church and the government of Burundi, which can be observed through the development projects implemented by the Church.

In his homily, Bishop Ntahondereye said that those ordination ceremonies were organized under the theme: “Strengthening the relations between God and men, and reconciling those who are in conflict”. He invited the ordained to be associated with Jesus Christ in the path they have just begun to succeed in their mission. On that occasion, he gave the blessing to the ordained and the insignia marking the ordination, category by category.

As for the parents’ representative, he warmly thanked the Catholic Church and all the teachers who passed in front of their children to contribute to their education. “Even if they are our children, we recognize that after their ordination, they become spiritual fathers of their parents,” the representative of the parents said. He therefore asked them to contribute to the consolidation of peace in the country and wished them every success in their journey.

Those ceremonies also saw the participation of parliamentarians elected in the Kirundo constituency, the Minister of National Defense and Veterans Affairs, the Deputy Secretary General of the CNDD-FDD party, the governor of Kirundo province and that of Muyinga province.
