The President of Burundi on a State visit to Kinshasa

KINSHASA July 14th (XINHUA) – Burundian President Evariste Ndayishimiye arrived in Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on Monday for a State visit, the DRC President’s Office announced in a communiqué.

The visit is part of the strengthening of the relations of friendship, brotherhood and cooperation that exist between the two countries, according to the document.

On Tuesday, President Evariste Ndayishimiye and his delegation will be received at the Kinshasa Nation House where a face-to-face talk with his Congolese counterpart, Félix Tshisekedi is scheduled, followed by an extended dialogue on issues of common interest at bilateral and regional levels.

During his stay in Goma, capital of North Kivu province (north-east), last June, the President of the DRC received the Burundian Minister of Foreign Affairs. He expressed his desire to revitalize relations between Kinshasa and Bujumbura.
