The President of the Republic has flown to the DRC for a State visit

BUJUMBURA July 13th (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, Mr Evariste Ndayishimiye, flew in the afternoon of Monday (around 2:35 p.m. local time), from Melchior Ndadaye International Airport, to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). In a press release issued on Sunday, July 11 by the office responsible for information and communications to the Office of the President of the Republic, the President of the Republic of Burundi is paying a State visit to the DRC at the invitation of his counterpart, Congolese President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo.

According to that press release, that visit is “the materialization of the will of the two Heads of State to strengthen the excellent ties of friendship and cooperation which bind the peoples of the DRC and Burundi as well as the peaceful coexistence between the respective peoples”.

During the visit from July 12 to 14, the two leaders will discuss “issues of common interest at bilateral, regional, continental and international level,” according to the same press release.
