Handover ceremonies have been held between the new provincial secretary of the CNDD-FDD party and his successor in Bujumbura City Council

BUJUMBURA July 2nd (ABP) – The handover ceremonies between the new provincial secretary of the CNDD-FDD party in the Bujumbura City Council, Mr. Benjamin Ndagijimana, and his successor, Mr Didmond Mvukiye, were organized on Wednesday June 30, 2021, a check by A. In his speech for the occasion, the outgoing secretary of the CNDD-FDD party in Bujumbura City Council, Mr. Ndagijimana, indicated that his term began in 2016, adding that such ceremonies did not took place in a solemn manner for various reasons.

Those solemn handover ceremonies took place in camera for various reasons.

Regarding the projects carried out in 5 years, Mr. Ndagijimana indicated that his term was characterized by various projects, including the project of regrouping the Bagumyabanga, adding that at this period the Bagumyabanga were divided.

He also cited the field visits made in particular to the quarters of the Bujumbura City Council and the capacity building made with the leaders of that party in order to remind them of governing well according to the laws and bylaws governing the CNDD-FDD party.

In his term, Mr. Ndagijimana recalled the referendum campaigns made in 2018 which, according to him, allowed them to win the referendum by 36.4% in the communal and presidential elections despite the crisis in which Burundi was plunged.

In the administration’s focal projects, the outgoing secretary of the CNDD-FDD party indicated that they have made a good step in safeguarding peace through the joint security committees, while intervening in sectors such as environmental protection and the fight against famine, good health and good governance according to the needs of the people.

With the initiative to create so-called sangwe and vaso cooperatives during his term, Mr. Ndagijimana said that those cooperatives have made it possible to bring together the Bagumyabanga and help vulnerable people without forgetting the survivors of the war in the city of Bujumbura. .

He stressed that his term ends with finalized projects and others that are pending including the construction of the provincial office of that party worth one billion Burundi francs.

On that occasion, Mr. Benjamin Ndagijimana called on the Bagumyabanga of Bujumbura City to redouble their efforts in the financial contribution to finalize the construction of the provincial office of that party as long as the remaining works equivalent to 200 million BIF.

Taking the floor, the new secretary of the CNDD-FDD party in Bujumbura City, Mr. Mvukiye, indicated that, among his projects to be implemented, include the two visits per week in each communal office of the city of Bujumbura to approach the Bagumyabanga of the party because, “Uwushaka inka aryama nkayo,” he reassured.

In short, he promised the Bagumyabanga that he will do everything to bring back to the family of the CNDD-FDD party the Bagumyabanga who have been excommunicated from that party since the 2015 crisis.

In addition, he insisted, the so-called sangwe and vaso cooperatives which practice hidden management will be scrupulously supervised to eradicate this bad behavior which puts the CNDD-FDD party behind. To achieve all of these goals, the Bagumyabanga must be characterized by bravery, flexibility and foresight, Mr. Mvukiye said.

Recall that those ceremonies saw the participation of different authorities, members of the CNDD-FDD party and Bagumyabanga from the three districts of Bujumbura City Council.
