BUJUMBURA June 24th (ABP) – The Minister of Communication, Information Technologies and Media, Mrs. Marie Chantal Nijimbere, visited the radio Bonesha-FM radio on Tuesday June 22, 2021, after its reopening, a check by ABP revealed.
During her visit to that radio station, Minister Nijimbere indicated that the objective of the visit was to inquire about the current situation and to be able to discuss with those in charge of the radio station on the step already taken after the reopening. She was pleased that the radio station is now operational and that its officials have combined their efforts for the radio station to be able to broadcast on national territory.
On that occasion, Mrs. Nijimbere commended the existence of an advocacy document of the radio station to make its operationalization effective despite the challenges it faces, in particular dilapidated or destroyed equipment, as well as the debts that the radio station owes to third.
To that end, Minister Nijimbere encouraged the staff of the radio Bonesha-FM and wished them every success in their mission to inform, educate and communicate. On the same occasion, she called on the technical and financial partners to stay alongside the radio Bonesha-FM by supporting especially in the capacity building of staff who were unemployed for five years, and also in the granting of equipment that the radio station needs to broadcast on national territory.
