BUJUMBURA May 29th (ABP) – The Vice President of the Republic of Burundi, Mr. Prosper Bazombanza, received in audience on Friday 28 May 2021 at the Ntare Rushatsi House the new Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Burundi, Mrs. Zhao Jiangping, who came for a courtesy visit.
At the end of the audience, Mrs. Jiangping said her meeting with the vice president focused on the state of relations between China and Burundi. She said the two countries have very strong political ties. They forged their relations on the win-win principle and maintained close coordination on the international scene. The two personalities also exchanged views on areas of cooperation, particularly on agricultural projects.
She informed that China has sent to Burundi a dozen agricultural experts who work on the pilot agricultural centers. Experts from the two countries share experience on agricultural development and the Chinese side would like to help Burundi in the area of food security.
They also spoke of cooperation in future development. China will adapt its cooperation projects to Burundi’s development strategy and on that principle it will expand cooperation in the fields of agriculture, public health, infrastructure and education.
