KAYANZA May 28th (ABP) – The communal administrator of Butaganzwa, Kayanza province (northern Burundi), Mrs. Janvière Kanyana, declared that the production of the cropping season B 2021 is generally good despite the climate variations having negatively impacted the production. She said some farmers have already harvested their crops.

Others, especially those who exploited the pooled fields during the 2021 cropping season A, will harvest by early next June. She pointed out that sensitization sessions for the people on good production management are continuing in order to avoid wasting production by selling it to markets.

Regarding the next cropping season C 2021, the administrative authority in Butaganzwa testifies that in collaboration with those in charge of the environment, agriculture and livestock, they have set themselves the goal of drawing an irrigation channel of about 1 km to Mount Banga to be able to irrigate market gardening crops that will be sown in the villages overlooking Mount Banga, which straddles the communes of Butaganzwa and Matongo.
