MURAMVYA, July 29th (ABP) – National Assembly second deputy speaker Abel Gashatsi continues to join the population of Muramvya province (center-west) in environmental protection activities, as part of his parliamentary recess of July.
Mr. Gashatsi was, on Friday, July 26, with the inhabitants of the Bukeye County and District in the work of drawing contour lines in the community properties located on Rweteto hill, a check on the spot by ABP has revealed.
In his speech, he called on them to have a spirit of solidarity and respect for the laws with a view to integrated development. Honorable Gashatsi insisted on the importance of environmental protection by inviting everyone to avoid any activity that could contribute to the degradation of arable land and river waters. He called on the population to remain united to move forward together towards an emerging Burundi by 2040 and a developed Burundi in 2060.
To achieve this without reproach, Mr. Gashatsi did not mince words when he spoke about the fight against favoritism, the strengthening of solidarity and good cohabitation as well as the preservation of peace and security.
Additionally, he called on anyone in their sector to carry out their tasks irreproachably while applying the laws vigorously and avoiding any form of corruption which is the obstacle to the development of the country. Young people on vacation were called upon to prepare for their better future.
