BUJUMBURA, July 29th (ABP) – The Minister of Communication, Information Technology and Media, Mrs. Léocadie Ndacayisaba proceeded, on Thursday, July 25, 2024, to the official inauguration of the Radio voice of insurance in Burundi (RAB FM), broadcasting from the city of Bujumbura on 92.6 MHz On that occasion, Mrs. Ndacayisaba thanked the Burundian insurance companies that have put their initiatives together to create this radio whose objective is to deploy a broad communication on insurance products, to promote their image and reputation and to inform their customers on the prevention of disputes, transparency during compensation as well as the procedure for dealing with victims.

The Minister responsible for communication noted that insurance constitutes a safety net for individuals and families to protect their families and their property, to ensure the continuity of economic activities and to guarantee coverage in the event of claims.

Minister Ndacayisaba also pointed out that some Burundians do not yet know the issues and benefits that insurance can bring in their daily lives, it is therefore imperative that citizens are made aware and informed on these issues so that they take ownership of the insurance sector to protect their property and their lives. On this, she said, it is therefore essential that the media in general and the radio voice of insurance in Burundi in particular in their education and training broadcasts commit to making the insurance sector known and encouraging citizens to protect themselves, and to understand the importance of prevention.

To have all this information, it is also crucial that all citizens pay attention to the information broadcast on radios, televisions and newspapers or approved online media. They must also be wary of information without sources that circulate on social media often devoid of credibility, which could even burn their understanding.

She took the opportunity to say that the government of Burundi, through the ministry in charge of communication will spare no effort in creating a working environment conducive to the media in order to ensure their development and independence.
