MWARO, July 28th (ABP) – The President of the Republic, Mr. Evariste Ndayishimiye, joined the population of Mwaro province on Thursday, July 25, 2024, in the community work to draw contour lines on Kibigoye hill in Kayokwe district. This was within the framework of the caravan called Inkebuzo.

In his address, President Ndayishimiye indicated that he is happy to see that the population goes about development activities; an observation made at the level of all the provinces already visited as part of that caravan.

Since 2020, President Ndayishimiye has started teaching young people. Thus, he said, in Burundi, we have capital but many people do not know it. Young people and land are the main capital, he said. President Ndayishimiye; friend of the youth, indicated that he met the youth in that caravan to teach them, adding that they are the Burundi of 2040. President Ndayishimiye informed the youth that they go to school to acquire knowledge in order to put it into practice. Capital comes from the effort provided, hence he asked parents to encourage their children to work from an early age.

According to the Head of State, the best way out of poverty is to read the Bible, where the inspiration for work lies. The Holy Bible teaches that none is entitled to eat when they have not worked.

After the contour line drawing on Kibigoye hill in Kayokwe district, President Ndayishimiye visited a young baker in Saswe village in the same district known as Clovis Munezero Ciza, funded by PAEEJ. Then, he proceeded to the inauguration of the Bisoro district hospital. The activities ended with a guided tour that President Ndayishimiye made in Gisozi district, at a young rabbit farmer by the name of Alexis Ngendakumana, who has 139 rabbits. He was also funded by PAEEJ. Note that during the contour line drawing work, the Head of State was accompanied by several personalities including the Minister of the Interior, Community Development and Public Security, the Minister of National Solidarity, Social Affairs, Human Rights and Gender, the First Vice-President of the Senate and a senator elected in Mwaro province.
