BUJUMBURA, June 27th (ABP) – The marketing manager of the Beekeeping for health and beauty (ABESA) company, Audace Manirakiza, told ABP on Wednesday June 12, 2024 that the company produces many objects from honey. That was during a sales exhibition at the Intwari stadium.

ABESA, based in the headquarters of Bubanza Province, produces petroleum jellies, glycerine, cigars, candles and soaps from honey.

Mr. Manirakiza explained that the company started with a capital of BIF 2,000,000.

According to him, the petroleum jellies produced by ABESA help to soften the skin, remove stains and protect the skin against certain diseases, as do the glycerines. The cost of these greases varies between 1000 BIF and 5000 BIF depending on the amount of content, while glycerine is sold for 3000 BIF.

The price of the soaps varies between 1,000 and 2,000 BIF. Mr Manirakiza expressed the wish to have a machine to increase production, pointing out that they have been using their own hands. He also expressed the need for land to plant sunflowers so that the bees can store a lot of honey in the cells of the hives.
