Call to the population for modern agriculture to increase production

RUTANA, June 21st (ABP) – The Second Vice-President of the Senate of Burundi, Mr. Fabrice Nkurunziza, joined the population of the Kabanga village, in the Bukemba commune, Rutana province (South) in community development work consisting of tracing contour lines,  a check on the site by  ABP has revealeed.

In his speech, Mr. Nkurunziza invited the inhabitants of the Bukemba commune to properly maintain their soil with a view to satisfactory agricultural production.

In this perspective, he called on the population to continue tracing contour lines, reforest the hills and plant agroforestry trees in their fields, including avocado trees, in order to have avocados that will be exported to bring foreign exchange to the country.

In the same perspective, this authority called on the population of Bukemba to practice modern agriculture by using organo-mineral fertilizers and manure from livestock. He also urged them to practice small and large livestock farming where possible.

As the electoral period approaches, rumors are becoming more and more numerous in the population, disrupting their focus on work, according to the Second Vice-President of the Senate. He invited the population of Bukemba not to lend a keen ear to rumors, but to go about their daily activities. He did not fail to call on the population to preserve peace and security because it is the only condition to work and reach the vision of Burundi, an emerging country in 2040 and developed in 2060.
