BUJUMBURA August 24th (ABP) – The wounds of the past can prevent women from accessing their vision, said the representative of the women’s department at the African Ministry of Compassion (MAC), Mrs. Penta Hayimana, during a conference organized by the said ministry on Wednesday August 23, 2023, to women leaders of religious denominations.

That conference was organized under the theme “Divine Principles of Sustainable Development with Christ”.

Mrs. Hayimana said that this conference was organized with the aim of sensitizing women leaders of religious denominations on the importance of associating development activities with service to God. In addition, it is an opportunity to become aware of their role in the development of the country by overcoming the wounds that can prevent them from accessing their vision.

She recalled that in this women’s department of the Ministry of Compassion, women have started, since 2022, a small project to manufacture flour for porridge, “UBUDASA”, composed of rice, sesame, maize, wheat, soybeans, which they sell at 6,000 BIF per kilogram.

Mrs. Hayimana also called on women to align themselves with the government’s vision, to make Burundi an emerging country in 2040 and a developed country in 2060. She invited all women, members of religious denominations, to create income-generating activities to meet certain family needs.
