Communal administrators are called upon to contribute to the development of their communes

BUJUMBURA August 28th (ABP) – The Minister of Interior, Community Development and Public Security, Mr. Martin Niteretse, held on Thursday, August 24, 2023 in Bujumbura, a meeting with all communal administrators, with a view to discuss the achievements among communal community development plans (PCDC).

According to Minister Niteretse, the overall objective of the meeting was to sensitize all communal administrators to mobilize their constituents for more production for the implementation of the vision ‘emerging Burundi in 2040 and developed in 2060’.

He said that when communes lag behind in development, the country cannot develop. He added that the Government helps those who are at work, while inviting them to prioritize agriculture and livestock.

Mr. Niteretse took the opportunity to remind communal administrators that to achieve development, it is necessary to complete and analyze the dashboards of the performance framework and to carefully follow the budget preparation schedule so as not to be bumped at the last minute.

Mr. Niteretse also asked the meeting participants to digitize the collection of data on the operational part. For the performance framework, he called on them to carefully analyze the figures that were filled in the part of the PCDC, before the supervising ministry forwards the report to the ministry responsible for finance. He also invited the administrative participants not to support the fraudsters and thieves of the country’s wealth.
