Talent detection, another way to stimulate young people on the path to development

GITEGA June 7th (ABP) – The Ministry of East African Community Affairs, Youth, Sports and Culture organized from June 5 to 6, 2023, an exchange workshop on the detection of young talents in the sports, cultural and artistic fields, in the urban center of Gitega (center of the country).

The meeting was attended by the senior executives and provincial representatives of the said ministry as well as the socio-cultural advisers of the provincial governors.

Opening the activities of the workshop, the Director General of Youth, Sports and Culture, Mr. Samuel Niyubahwe, indicated that the organization of the meeting is part of the implementation of the recommendation of Burundi Head of State Evariste Ndayishimiye, in his desire to engage talented young people on the path to development, a source of responsible citizenship.

To the workshop participants, Mr. Niyubahwe asked them to get actively involved in detecting the talents of young people, while recalling that the target population is found from the village level to the national level.

In terms of exchanges, it was recommended to set up a week dedicated to the detection of talents, the revaluation of music and traditional games as well as the revaluation of the national language.
