CANKUZO May 6th (ABP) – The President of the Senate at the same time legal representative of the United Methodist Church, Mr. Emmanuel Sinzohagera, requests the intervention of the governor of Cankuzo province for the return of the church plots seized in Mishiha commune and Kigamba. He expressed that concern on Sunday, June 4, 2023, during the closing of an evangelization crusade organized by the Murore parish located in Gisagara commune of that province.

Mr. Sinzohagera told Christians participating in the crusade that this church and the government are on good terms. But he mentioned the problem of plots located in Kigamba commune which belonged to that church and which were looted by the Rwandans who exploited them. He added that they even took the supporting documents. Moreover, he stressed, anyone can testify to this reality.

He asked the governor of Cankuzo to collaborate with the administrative authorities of Kigamba to find a solution.

Mr. Sinzohagera also mentioned the plot located in Mishiha commune, a large part of which was occupied by the people. He asked the commune to do justice to that church while giving it another share of area equal to that of the first.

Sinzohagera took the opportunity to urge the leaders of that church to serve as an example to its faithful in particular and the whole population in general in the fight against poverty by tackling the work for self-development. It is in that context that he recommended to the parishes of the United Methodist Church to have rabbit hutches so that the faithful benefit from them for the promotion of this kind of livestock.
