The Aigle Noir team has won the President’s Cup at the expense of Bumamuru FC

BUJUMBURA June 6th (ABP) – The 2023 edition of the President’s Cup final took place on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the Umuco stadium in Muyinga province, in the presence of the presidential couple of the Republic.

The chairman of the Burundi Football Federation, Mr. Alexandre Muyenge and the representatives of the ministry in charge of sports were also present. It was the President of the Republic, Mr. Evariste Ndayishimiye who kicked off the final.

The selections of Bumamuru FC from Cibitoke, champion of the Primus League of premier league teams, 2023 edition, played with Aigle Noir from Makamba, which is in 5th position in the Primus League ranking for the same edition.

The match ended with the victory of Aigle Noir the Fighters from Makamba with a score of 3-1. The winning team has become at the same time champion of the President’s Cup for the 2023 edition. In addition to the cups that the two teams received from the hands of the President of the Republic, Aigle Noir, champion team of the President’s Cup, received an envelope of 10,000,000 BIF while the other finalist Bumamuru FC received an envelope of 7,000,000 BIF.

The two teams will thus represent Burundi in African interclub competitions, bringing together the best selections ranked at country level.
