BUJUMBURA May 29th (ABP) – Burundi Head of State Evariste Ndayishimiye, accompanied by his better half, took part on Saturday May 27, 2023, in the ceremonies marking the unfolding of the sacrament of confirmation to the children of the military chaplaincy parish of Bujumbura.

In Mass celebrated for that purpose, the Burundi Head of State represented the parents of the children receiving the sacrament of Confirmation to be blessed.

During his speech, he reminded the newly confirmed that this sacrament will allow them to be responsible Christians to go and preach the good news of Jesus Christ. Mr. Ndayishimiye thanked the catechists of the parish for the teachings dispensed suitably preparing those children for that sacrament, before calling on their parents to continue to upbring them well.

The priest who celebrated the Mass, Father Fupi Félix, indicated that the confirmation sacrament is very important in the life of a Christian. He wished those children to receive the Holy Spirit through that sacrament. He added that this sacrament will allow them to receive the seven gifts.

He took advantage of that opportunity to call on the newly confirmed to integrate into various Catholic action movements to be witnesses of Jesus Christ and strengthen his good news. Mr. Fupi also told those children that he who has received the Holy Spirit is characterized by good fruits and good works useful to others. He/she also becomes an apostle to teach the word of God all over the world.

That preacher finally invited the parents of those children to always watch them over and to continue to upbring them well and to instill in them the good manners of the Burundian culture.
