KAYANZA May 24th (ABP) – The small terrain on which they built the Burarana high school of the Matongo school commune, Kayanza province (north), and the lack of drinking water, are the main challenges facing that school.

This was stated on Saturday May 20, 2023 by the headmaster of the school, Mr. Eric Ndaryiyumvire, on the sidelines of the silver jubilee celebrations of that school, a check by ABP revealed.

According to Mr. Ndaryiyumvire, the school, which has been serving the nation since 1998, is facing a lot of problems. For example, he said, the land on which it is located used to belong to the Buraniro parish, but the parish gave the property to the Matongo commune in exchange for another property in another locality.

To that end, he stressed, the Buraniro parish is still keeping an eye on that property of the Burarana communal high school by suspending some of the construction work planned by the management of that school.

To overcome this problem, the director of Burarana communal high school asked for the intervention of the hierarchical authorities and the communal administration of Matongo. Another challenge he mentioned was the lack of drinking water.

From all the above, the communal director of education in Matongo, Mr. Gilbert Ryumeko, as well as the permanent executive secretary of that commune, Mr. Robert Kanani, affirmed that all those problems require an urgent remedy in order to improve performance.

Mr. Kanani said that the Matongo commune, through the permanent commission in charge of properties, will do everything to show the limits of that school and this, not exceeding the next month of July.

On the issue of the lack of drinking water, he said that the officials of the communal water supply authority must conduct their studies so that the school is supplied with drinking water as soon as possible.
