Trip by the governor of Bubanza province in the Muramba zone

BUBANZA March 25th (ABP) – The governor of Bubanza province, Mr. Cléophas Nizigiyimana, held on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, the dialogue with the inhabitants of the Muramba zone in Bubanza commune (north-west of Burundi), in order to inquire about their concerns and provide related solutions, a check by ABP revealed.

Among the grievances they raised are difficulties in the supply of chemical fertilizers due to the fact that they have to travel several kilometers on a motorbike, and ask for the fertilizer depot in that zone. Other concerns include the lack of veterinarians resulting in the death of pets. One of the women on site saying her two cows and five pigs died due to lack of help from vets.

They also spoke of the men who abandon their restricted families and who go to the plain of Imbo to found other homes there, the lack of medicines at the health center on site, while the reference hospital is far, at the provincial headquarters. Other concerns raised include the fact that the Bank for Investment and Development for Women is far from Bubanza, the road in poor condition, the lack of drinking water, electricity, the accusation of witchcraft, volunteer teachers who burden parents and others.

Faced with all those grievances, Governor Nizigiyimana promised to make them a concern, and to always act for the well-being of his constituents. In turn, he invited them to maintain peace and tighten security, and to devote themselves to self-development projects. Note that this Muramba zone is the 5th visited by the governor of Bubanza.
