MAKAMBA March 1st (ABP) – The governor of Makamba province, Mrs. Françoise Ngozirazana, held on Monday, February 27, 2023 an extended meeting of the provincial joint security committee.

During which, it was revealed that peace and security are in good shape, except for a few isolated cases of accidents, fraudulent goods seized, cases of school dropouts, a check by ABP revealed.

To reduce the cases of accidents, the governor asked participants to continue to sensitize holders of motorcycles and vehicles to have the necessary documents for road traffic and to respect the highway code. The governor asked the administrative officials located in the localities bordering Tanzania, to be vigilant to fight against fraud of any form and this will be possible when people will be involved in that fight. She reminded the administration as well as the police to sensitize the people to conserve the harvest. They must also ensure that production does not cross provincial borders without prior permission from the provincial administration.

To adapt to climate change, the director of the provincial office of environment, agriculture and livestock, Mrs. Leonie Nshimirimana, proposed that people be mobilized to cultivate drought-resistant crops and those of short duration.

Concerning the fight against school dropouts and school pregnancies, the administrative officials in collaboration with the people must work in synergy to eradicate those cases of dropouts. However, an investigation should be conducted to verify whether school officials do not increase the statistics when reporting.

The participants finally agreed to continue to ensure compliance with the prices of goods as set by the State.
