BUBANZA January 18th (ABP) – The Minister of Hydraulics, Energy and Mines, Ibrahim Uwizeye, met on Monday January 16, 2023, the inhabitants of Bubanza province (north-west of Burundi), to collect their concerns in connection with that ministry, a check in Bubanza by ABP has revealed.

Concerns that were raised by participants include electricity poles in rice fields that cause power cuts every time the rain falls.

Other grievances which have been raised are transformers which have been damaged and which have not been replaced, the lack of drinking water in certain localities of the Rugazi commune, whereas, they say, almost all the sources of catchments of the water are in that commune, compensations which were not given for properties in which passed pipes and electric poles, people who organized themselves for the purchase of the poles, but which miss electric wires…

Minister Uwizeye reassured them that the necessary equipment is already on order so that all those drinking water and electricity needs can be solved. He asked the provincial staff of that ministry to always work in good collaboration with the provincial administration.
