KARUSI January 16th (ABP) – The country needs good political leaders to develop and this started with the President of the Republic, Evariste Ndayishimiye, according to his speech delivered on Thursday January 12, 2023 at the modern stadium of Karusi on the occasion of the inauguration of the new governor of Karusi province, Mrs. Devote Nizigiyimana.
The Bible and the constitution serve as a guide for any political leader who wants to achieve his objectives, according to President Ndayishimiye. Consulting the upper hierarchy when in doubt in the face of difficult issues is wise for a political leader who wants to succeed, he said.
To serve as an example, to put oneself in the shoes of others, to spare oneself from selfishness and to put forward generosity, this makes a political leader a good shepherd as the Bible emphasizes, he insisted. A worthy Burundian politician aims for food self-sufficiency in order to definitively solve the social problems which undermine the people, according to the President of the Republic.
If the province of Karusi marks a step in its development today, it is because the natives and intellectual residents have initiated a progressive program, President Ndayishimiye said.
So, you have to accept to work and take the trouble to reach your destination, he advised the new governor.
