RUTANA December 14th (ABP) – To achieve the main objective of the Multisectoral Platform for Food Security and Nutrition (PMSAN), which is the eradication of malnutrition in Burundi, the members of that platform in Rutana province should set long- and short-term goals and focus on results. This is the advice of Mrs. Corine Karikurubu, in charge of accounting, budget tracking and logistics, at the permanent executive secretariat of PMSAN, during a meeting she held last week, for members from Rutana province.

During the meeting, the head of the executive secretariat of the said platform, Mrs. Godelieve Nisabwe, deplored the fact that Burundi is still among the countries most affected by malnutrition in the world, although it has the natural potential and that it is associated with other countries of the world in programs to strengthen food security.

For that reason, she clarified that this platform has been set up for the monitoring and evaluation of projects working in the field of nutrition in the province.

In order to facilitate the work of that platform, Mrs. Karikurubu told them that the State will now support the provincial platforms with an amount of five hundred thousand Burundi francs each quarter. She asked them to work for the interest of the people.

Note that Mrs. Karikurubu called on all members of that platform and representatives of different sectors of life in the province to work in synergy for the eradication of malnutrition.
