BUJUMBURA November 5th (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye received Monday, October 31, 2022 at the Ntare Rushatsi House Mr. Gabriel Ruhan the Managing Director (AGD) of the pay code company, accompanied by another delegation from the Master card company that will work with pay code.
At the end of the hearing, the spokesperson for the President of the Republic, Alain Diomède Nzeyimana told the Burundian press that the CEO of pay code explained to the Head of State that his company specializes in transactions financial but also in biometric identities. That company, which operates internationally, has services that will allow people to make transactions even in the absence of internet connection and electricity. He also specified that pay code can be used for exchanges between banks, transactions between individuals and banks or micro finance. According to the spokesperson for the President of the Republic of Burundi, the pay code company works together with the Master card company which distributes cards for purchase on the internet or in payments in hotels, buses and others. Mr. Nzeyimana reported that the Head of State took this opportunity to invite these businessmen to the national private sector forum which will take place in Bujumbura on November 2, 2022. Regarding the added value for the government of Burundi and to the Burundian population in relation to this pay code company, the spokesperson for the President of the Republic said that the latter comes at the right time, because Burundi is promoting digitalization in all services of the country, to reduce expenditure, avoid corruption, promote good governance and achieve financial inclusion. It should be noted that the headquarters of the pay code company is located in London, England.
