The First Lady received in audience the Representative of UNFPA in Burundi and the Representative of UN AIDS in Burundi

BUJUMBURA September 30th (ABP) – The First Lady of Burundi Angeline Ndayishimiye received in audience successively the UNFPA Representative in Burundi, Dr. Richmond Tiemoko who came to bid her farewell and the new UNAIDS Country Director in Burundi Mrs. Marie- Margarète Molnar Wednesday September 2022 at Ntare house.

At the end of the audience, Dr. Richmond Tiemoko indicated that he had come to bid farewell to the First Lady at the end of her 4-year mandate in Burundi. He reported that he has worked well with the 1st Lady during her last 2 years and that he appreciates the good deeds she is doing in the sector of health. He spoke of the commendable action she has undertaken in building a health center that welcomes women victims of obstetric fistulas. Dr. Richmond Tiemoko finally expressed a feeling of gratitude to the Burundians through the 1st Lady whom he finds very generous and hospitable.

In turn, the new Country Director of UN AIDS in Burundi Mrs. Marie-Margarète indicated that the exchanges focused on the actions carried out by the 1st Lady through the actions of the Good Action Foundation “Umugiraneza” and areas in which partners can provide support so that it can successfully achieve its objectives. They also spoke about the potential collaboration between UNAIDS and the Office of the First Lady as well as the Office of the First Lady for Development (OPDD).
