CANKUZO July 27th (ABP) – The people of Cankuzo commune and province pleads for the construction of speed bumps on the road linking Cankuzo to Ruyigi, for the reduction of accident cases.
It was on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, during a security meeting that the chief of staff of the governor of this province, Mr. Pierre Claver Nakumuryango held, at the place of the population of Cankuzo village, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.
In this meeting, the people of Cankuzo pleaded for the construction of speed bumps on the national road linking Cankuzo to Muyinga in order to reduce the cases of accidents that occur there.
The chief of staff of the governor of Cankuzo province indicated that the provincial administration is aware of these facts, indicating that we are in the process of appealing to the authorities authorized to build them.
Speaking, police commissioner Pascal Nshimirimana salutes the habit of those who point the finger at motorcyclists and taxi drivers who break the law by transporting the wrong load. However, he discourages those who continue to flout the law saying that anyone caught will face penalties. This is when he observes bikers carrying more than one passenger.
According to Nshimirimana, the provision of the documents required in this same sector is necessary to secure their service.
At a time when there are cases of theft in this commune, the chief of staff called on the members of the joint security committees and the entire population in general to collaborate with the police in the context of preserving peace and security.
Each family must be in possession of a household notebook and inform local administrators about newcomers, he continued.
To ensure the promotion of hygiene, Mr. Nakumuryango recommended to health personnel, the supervision of bars and restaurants, on the respect of hygiene and to give reports to the administrative authorities.
He did not fail to remind people to respect the protective measures against the disease of covid-19, where he recommended making buckets of water and soap available to the people in front of each point of commerce and offices for more hygiene.
