Assistance in food and non-food for thirty prisoners of Muramvya by the village side unit of the Red Cross

MURAMVYA May 11th (ABP) – As it was the closing of the week dedicated to the assistance by the village side units of the Red Cross in favor of vulnerable people in the province MURAMVYA (Center-West), those of the village unit of the headquarters of the commune and province in the company of officials at the provincial level, ended the week on Monday by distributing blankets and porridge to the thirty prisoners of Muramvya prison including 20 men and 10 lactating women.

Those aid recipients warmly welcomed that act full of love and solidarity that the volunteers of the Muramvya red cross branch continue to show by regularly bringing food and non-food items to assist the poor prisoners, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

As for the provincial secretary of the branch of the red cross, Mr. Elysé Ndikumana, who also accompanied the aid, he appreciated all the activities that characterized the week dedicated to the world day dedicated to the red cross and the red crescent. He said that this year’s theme is “Let’s be kind, let’s show the world how we can all be kind.” Red Cross and Red Crescent movement and the same for humanitarian principles.

Note that this aid distribution was preceded by a volleyball match which took place at the sports playground inside Muramvya prison. It was the prisoners’ team that won three sets against one for the team of volunteers of the red cross of the headquarters of the province.
