MWARO May 10th (ABP) – Some 54 desk benches were granted Friday, May 6, 2022 to the communal high school of Gitunga by the natives of Kayokwe commune in Mwaro province. The representative of the natives of that place indicated that after having observed that this school has a problem related to the lack of equipment, in particular the desk benches, they organized themselves in collaboration with the residents, the parents as well as the Free Methodist Church. to collect the necessary funds. They promised 190 desk benches and we distributed 54 for the first installment. She reported that the natives will continue to gather the necessary means to reach 190 promised desk benches. The director of the Gitunga communal high school, Mr. Salomon Nkurunziza warmly thanked the natives and said he was satisfied with that act by the natives of Gitunga village working in all the provinces of the country and elsewhere. He also said that this gesture is a relief for the first and second year pupils because the two classes had no desk benches as the students sat on benches loaned by the Free Methodist Church. The delegate of the communal directorate of education in Kayokwe, Mr. Juvénal Ndayikeje, urged teachers and students to make good use of those desk benches which must be repaired in time whenever necessary. Note that last year that school received from those natives, 150 French and Kirundi books for the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th year classes.
