KAYANZA May 10th (ABP) – The winners, former principals and teachers of Nzewe communal high school in Gahombo commune of Kayanza school province met last Saturday to celebrate the silver jubilee of this school dating from 1997. Despite its 25 years of existence, this school today faces many challenges, especially the lack of infrastructure, we learned on site. The celebration ceremonies of the Silver Jubilee of the said school began with a mass of thanksgiving. The celebrant of the latter asked the winners of the said high school, yesterday called communal college, to come back to support him in order to remedy certain challenges he faces today. As for the pupils who currently attend the Nzewe communal high school, he called on them to make more efforts so that they follow in the footsteps of their elders who are today at the service of the nation and its people. In his speech for the occasion, Mr. Onésime Ntezimana, director of the said school, recalled that the Nzewe communal high school opened its doors during the crisis in the country and that, unfortunately, the ceilings of the classrooms, the latrines, the doors and windows are now in a dilapidated state. To do that, he invited the winners of that school to do everything possible for the rehabilitation of their original school. Same story for the communal administrator of Gahombo, Mr. Sylvestre Ntunzwenayo who specified, in turn, that if the pupils study in favorable conditions, good results must follow. Thus, he urged the natives of that commune to take the lead in supporting the education sector, a pillar of sustainable development. Note that during its 25 years of existence, out of a total of 2,009 who attended the Nzewe municipal high school, 4,02 of them obtained diplomas or certificates.
