The Speaker of the National Assembly has taken part in the UPA meeting

BUJUMBURA October 12th (ABP) – The Speaker of the National Assembly of Burundi, Mr. Daniel Gélase Ndabirabe, flew on Saturday October 9, 2021 to the Republic of Djibouti to participate in the 76th session of the executive committee and at the 43rd Conference of Presidents of the Parliamentary Assemblies of the African Parliamentary Union (UPA), a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

“This meeting will revolve around the Covid-19 pandemic and its economic consequences,” Mr. Ndabirabe told reporters. He indicated those African countries, including MPs who are members of the PAU, will try to contribute so that the economy of different African countries can be recovered because, he noted, specifying that the Covid-19 is the number one enemy of the economy and that affected everyone.

Alongside that great economic issue being the subject of said meeting, there will also be a meeting of women which will focus on their contribution during the period of the Covid-19 pandemic which has plagued the whole world. “The women will try to examine how they can contribute effectively and efficiently to the economic recovery of various African countries,” the Speaker of the lower house of parliament said shortly before his departure.
