CIBITOKE August 4th (ABP) – The Diocese of Bubanza proceeded on Saturday July 31 to the ordination of seven priests as well as eight deacons, eight acolytes and nine readers under the theme: “Go and evangelize all the people of the whole world”. The ceremonies took place in the parish of Cibitoke and were led by the bishop of the diocese of Bubanza, Mgr. Jean Ntagwarara.

The festivities were honored with the presence of the Minister in charge of the Interior, a native of Cibitoke province (north-west of Burundi). He was in the company of officials-elect from Bubanza and Cibitoke provinces and several senior executives.

In his homily, Bishop Ntagwarara urged them to preach by good example for truth and love. He called on them to work in unity and brotherhood, to overcome Satan and evil.

Note that the Cibitoke parish which hosted the said ceremonies has 20,823 Catholic Christians out of 39,281 inhabitants, that is to say, 54%, according to Priest Nestor Nihorimbere. He said that for its 4th time, the ordination has seen significant numbers compared to previous occasions.
