Catholic Christians in Karusi parish want the creation of the diocese

KARUSI June 15th (ABP) – The governor of Karusi province, Mrs. Calinie Mbarushimana, supports the wish of the parish priest of the Sacred Heart parish of Karusi and that of the Catholic Christians of the constituency, relating to the creation of the Diocese of Karusi, this was disclosed in the speeches made during the parish feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, on Sunday, June 13, 2021.

The Catholic Church contributes to the spiritual and material development of the province, the governor underlined in her speech.

She cited in particular schools and health centers under agreement on the one hand and the contributions of Catholic action movements during community development work on the other hand.

The messages of peace often launched during the celebration of Sunday masses strengthen those of the administration and toughen social cohesion, according to Governor Mbarushimana.

The province of Karusi has eight parishes which welcome thousands of followers hence the idea of ​​the parish priest of Karusi and the one who spoke on behalf of the Catholic Christians of the parish to ask the Archbishop of Gitega for the creation of the Karusi Diocese, Mrs. Calinie Mbarushimana said.

Note that the Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Gitega, present in the ceremonies, promised to bring that message as such to the Archbishop.
